AI Survival Mod (The thing where you kill the bots) is back until the release of Black Ops II.
Open the console: Press the ~ key.
Connect to the server: type "/connect 173.199.99.247:3074" and press Enter
Once connected, add it to your favorites!
Server settings have been updated as of 6/26. Please see my notes below. |

is alot of fun, yes nice setup dude, Ive allways still had the mod, if ya go into it and then go to combat training, you can play it byyour self, is fun, but is hard to beat alone, them friggin bots cheat ill tell ya lol |

If y'all have Black Ops, check the AI Survival mod out again. I corrected some issues where the settings were wiped when the server restarted. Also corrected the difficulty of the bots from "normal" to "hard". Enemy rounds now do 20% of normal damage rather than 10%. Also, the wait time before each round starts has been reduced from 30 seconds to 10 seconds. |

I gave it a go solo. Playing by yourself is a good way to die. Have yet to get through round 4. |

The server got a restart today as it had begun refusing connections. It's back up.
If this continues I will put it on an auto-restart. |

I think if you make the bots easier to kill you will get and hold a lot more people in the server. Right now its very hard for 1 or 2 players to get pass 2 or 3 rounds.
Making it easier will keep the players in the server much longer.
Plus add a little more time in between rounds. It gives people time to talk a little break, plus get ammo pack and get were they need to be and time to open up Shop and buy things. |

I finished level 4 by myself. I'll try playing it solo myself again and if I cannot finish level 10, I will knock the bot skill down from "hard" to "normal" and try it again.
I'll up the time between rounds back to 30 seconds. |

Two of us played last night and the bots seemed much harder than the last time I played through. Very strange. We reduced the difficulty until the bots were "casual" through level 6 or so. The difficulty is now "easy" with 10% enemy bullet damage - one difficulty level less than the default. |

Hedge, I was able to connect to the bot server this morning and had great fun playing through several rounds with Sarge. Thanks for the money and work you have put into the server. Now, make'm harder! You did good! |

We tried to find a perfect setting. Hedge can explain how it works since he knows best. It seemed any other setting higher always ended in 4-6 rounds. Thats with me and Hedge playing.
I played on hardest alone but only got to level 4. Other pub guys left quick. Was a pain in the ass.
I suggested we should have it set so a good group can get to at least level 6 or 7 then have it become challenging for decent players. Only way to do this causes the early 3=5 round bots to play like JML.
Maybe more testing is needed. Let's all try to hook up some time soon in this mod. |

Had 10 players on today on easy difficulty and most of them stuck around for awhile, but finishing all 15 levels was a cakewalk. At Cat's request I bumped the difficulty up to normal and reduced enemy bullet damage to 10%. Had another group playing this evening and finished 15 levels with some effort - not a great deal of effort but it felt accomplished. I'll run this through next weekend and see where things lead. |

If it gets too easy with a lot of players then you should look into the multiplier settings. Those settings will for example, increase the amount of damage that the bots do the more players that were alive at the start of the round. |

Cyborg, thanks for checking out our forums! It's nice to see the authors of the mods checking on their work from time to time. I see the multiplier settings there. I'll have to play with that a bit. It's difficult when the mod is in "production" but I will be up late tonight and there should be some time when I can sync FTP in there.
There is some concern right now that the server will not be populated if the game is too hard, but at the same time I have more clan members asking me to make it harder than I do asking me to make it easier. I am hoping that if I get enough clan members interested, they will attract attention to the server, so I've decided to increase the difficulty.
I've also had some players ask me to change the guns the bots use and add killstreaks to the store. I'm guessing this has to be modified in source code? I'm considering bringing this mod over to Black Ops II when Treyarch makes dev tools available. I'd like to have the logic ironed out for our players before this happens. |
